The Cozad Police Department is investigating a report of vandalism. The vandalism occurred at the Cozad Bible Church located at 16th and O street in Cozad. On the night of Wednesday January 25, after 12:30 a.m. an unknown person(s) vandalized the Cozad Bible Church. The person(s) damaged several areas of the Cozad Bible Church. A vehicle belonging to the Church was also damaged during the incident. The damage is estimated at approximately $5,000 dollars.

During the week of December 5th thru the 11th unknown person(s) driving an SUV or pickup damaged the decorations in various locations of Gothenburg. The estimated damages range from $50.00 to several hundred dollars per incident.

| 12/6/2011 - Hit and Run |
The Dawson County Sheriff`s Office and Lexington Police Department are investigating a hit and run incident that resulted in the death of Domingo Lujan, Jr. of Oxford, Ne. on December 6th 2011.
Mr. Lujan, Jr. was drug under a vehicle from near the intersection of East Walnut Street and County Road 435, south to the intersection of County Road 435 and Prospect Road, then west to the intersection of Prospect Road and Industry Road where the body was located, covering a distance of approximately 1 1/4 miles.
Preliminary autopsy results revealed the cause of death of Domingo Lujan, Jr. was blunt force trauma.

Police Department is investigating a residential burglary which occurred in the
600 block of East 10th street. The burglary occurred on November 12th,
2011. The owners of the residence reported leaving at approximately 4:00 p.m.
and returning at approximately 1:00 a.m. on November 13th, 2011. The
owners reported finding the front door being pried open upon their return to
the residence. The owners reported that the home appeared in disarray. The home
owners reported several item of property missing from the residence. An
approximate total of $10,000 of personal property including jewelry audio
visual equipment was reported missing.

The Dawson County Sheriff`s Officer is investigating a burglary. Sometime between August 28, 2011 to September 6, 2011 a person(s) entered into a residence located at 254 West River Road. The person(s) removed jewelry and several other small items from the residence. The person(s) broke into outbuildngs located at the residence and remvoed a John Deere riding lawn mower, air compressor, and torch set.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a Burglary/Criminal mischief. Unknown subjects entered into a residence located at 1404 Wade Street in Lexington, Nebraska between the dates of August 7 through August 12, 2011. The subjects removed two flat screen television`s and 7 firearms along wih an unknow amount of change. The subjects then cut and pried open a safe located inside of the residence. The subjects trashed the entire residence ruining all carpets and furniture.
Damages and loss are estimated at approximately $20,000.00.
